mrs brock this isnt about this part of the page but how did you get soooooooo clever and sneeky +funny..... i wish i was you. and if you dont remember math on the 3/9/08 when the puzzle turned out you were 77years old you will need a lot of memory mints and im talking millions. all the best teal xxx
Teal is referring to the maths lesson on Day 1. We were learning how to solve puzzles by working backwards and many pupils picked it up really well. I asked the ones who finished first to create their own question using the ages of members of staff. The answers revealed that I was either 77 or 88 years old! Of course I had to demenstrate that this was a total lie so I did a handstand against the wall and challenged the class to name me any 77 or 88 year old who they knew who would do that!
Although the weather has been foul we have had a good week with the emphasis very much on focusing on strategies to help learn effectively and to work as a team. Friday afternoon involved a team challenge to build the tallest structure out of newspaper. Photos and comments to follow.
Also on Friday we had the school councillor elections. I was incredibly impressed by the candidates speeches and hope they'll post them on the Zone next week. Oli is our councillor and Harriet his assistant.
More next week. I'm really handicapped at the moment because my home computer is being repaired: at first I thought Windows Service Pack 3 was the culprit... no; the hard drive perhaps, heaven knows I have hammered it over the last 3 years...no. It turns out that the motherboard itself had goiven up the ghost; the good news was I still had 46 days left on the warranty so it will be replaced free. Whew!!So if I am a little slow adding to the Zone or replying to emails perhaps you will understand.
