Recent vicious attacks on school children in schools has thrust the issue of bullying onto the front pages of newspapers and into the headlines. Next week is Anti Bullying Week, and 6JB have been sharing experiences and strategies. We would welcome comments about how it feels so that any bullies visiting the site can understand just how devastating and damaging it can be to the victim's self esteem, confidence and how it can lead them to restrict their activities. If you have any strategies, tips or advice to offer to help cope please share them on this site. For once, due to the sensitive subject, I am going to suggest that unless you particularly want me to mention your name, I will keep identities anonymous.

I think a person making someone feel bad with cruel remarks probably feels bad about themself. Try and talk to a friend or someone who will make you feel better if you are on the receiving end of a cruel remark as this will put it in perspective. Sometimes it's better to avoid people like that because they are not going to stop. Friends of mine have been made fun of because of wearing glasses at clubs and they left.

I say, if you are being bullied and it gets out of hand, tell the teacher and maybe your parents! If it still doesn't stop tell the headmaster/head misstress and if it still won't stop say in front of the bully "i am tired of you bullying me and you make me feel aweful so leave me alone!"
